Outstanding Edwardian triple tiered skirt made entirely by hand in the early 1900s. An outwardly romantic piece, it is tailored from layer-upon-layer of breezy white mousseline cotton and trimmed with lace along the bottom hems. The short outer layer and longer second layer are detailed with pretty lace trims, raised satin stitch work, embroidered botanical patterns and a scallop hem. The gathered waistband with adjustable tie at the front means that this skirt can be worn at the waist or on the hips. This piece is in truly remarkable condition for a garment fashioned at the turn of the 19th century. In very fine antique condition with no issues; no repairs or staining. Will fit a great variety of sizes due to the adjustable waistband.
